Join our team! We will teach you everything there is to know about gardening. You can enjoy fresh air all day long, meet some awesome plants, and people, and enjoy the satisfaction that comes from a hard day’s work. We take care of gardens of all kinds, cottage gardens on the ocean, lakeside native gardens, concert venues, restaurants, breweries, even the town greens. We also grow our own specialty annuals and perennials on our 3 acre farm. We can train a novice gardener, or help nurture the skills of an experienced horticulturist. Gardening is an endless education where you get to learn new things every day. We want to grow ourselves, our team and our business. Open Positions:

Gardener


Job responsibilities:

  • Raking, cleaning, edging garden beds

  • Weeding

  • Amending gardens with compost and adding mulch

  • Fertilizing plants, shrubs and trees

  • Staking and supporting plants

  • Identifying and managing pests

  • Pruning shrubs and small trees

  • Watering plants and containers

  • More weeding

  • Dead heading, cutting back and removing plants

  • Using light equipment such as a leaf blower and weedeater

  • Diverse crop, garden, and orchard planting and maintenance

  • Washing tools, trucks, and cleaning up facilities

  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace

  • Other duties as assigned

Necessary qualifications: 

  • Physical strength and stamina are necessary to perform this job

  • Strong work ethic

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must be a positive team player

  • Open-minded and inclusive of all walks of life

  • Efficient and fast paced

  • Able to take direction, learn systems, and see all tasks through to completion

  • At least 1 year of farm work, row crop, and/or landscaping experience is helpful, but not required

  • General handiness and ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely

  • Able to lift 50+ lbs

 

groundskeeper

Job responsibilities:

  • Composting and mulching landscape beds

  • Weeding native sods and garden beds

  • Cleaning garden beds

  • Prepping soil and planting annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs

  • Pruning trees, shrubs and hedges

  • Blowing and cleaning paths, walkways, decks etc.

  • Maintaining tools, trucks, and work facilities

  • Use of tools and equipment such as backpack blower, weed eater, mower, tractor

  • Placing, cleaning, building and maintaining outdoor furniture, planters, and garden accessories

Required qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license

  • Physical strength and stamina, candidates should be able to lift 50+ lbs regularly

  • Ability to operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently

  • Strong work ethic, efficient and fast paced

  • Ability to work effectively, independently and in a group

  • Able to take direction, learn systems, and see all tasks through to completion

  • 1-3 years groundskeeping, landscaping or gardening experience is preferred or we will train a motivated individual
